CARE Team Ministry

We are committed to the “care” of the church congregation and their families.

Colossians 3:12 “So as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…”

What We Do:

  • Send cards to those who are ill, undergoing surgery, need encouragement, have a death in the family, etc.
  • Send birthday cards and letters to college students and scholarship students.
  • Uplift spirits of those who are home bound, in hospitals, or in nursing homes through visitation.
  • Provide meals, rides, etc. when needed.
  • Contact the Church Office or Lisa Leard, if you know of someone who would like Communion brought to their home.

Prayer Ministry

Monday Night Prayer Team –  6:00 pm (Meeting Virtually right now)

Every Monday night (holidays excepting), a group of dedicated individuals meet for a special time of prayer. Those who may be out-of-town often call in and join the meeting via conference call. We meet most Monday’s at 6:00 pm.

We pray for our church and community, including those prayer requests raised from attendees of our services and any requests phoned or emailed to the church office throughout the week. It is a time to focus and connect us to Jesus and each other.

It’s a great way to begin the week and to feel the power of prayer. Come as you are, join us around the table. Give it a try!

Hospitality at Oceanview

Hospitality, as we see it, is an extension of who we are. We are a group of people who gather to love God, serve God and live in fellowship with others.

Hebrews 13:2 (NRSV) “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.”

There are lots of opportunities in Hospitality at Oceanview – including things that YOU may see, but we haven’t yet noticed. How do we extend a smile, a welcome and our joy to others? We can do it a myriad of ways.

Some of our other Hospitality opportunities are listed below:

  • Greeters are very important, making everyone, especially visitors feel welcome. Several greeters are needed at the sidewalk and near the front entrance each service. If you have a great smile, a warm handshake and are not afraid to use either – then join us as Greeters.
  • Ushers: Rance Deware and/or Scott Logan are our head ushers. Ushers are important for helping everyone feel at home, answering questions, and guiding newcomers. If you like helping people feel more at home – then consider helping to usher.

Oceanview Worship Dance

Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and harp.

Psalm 149:3

Worship dance is a form of worship intended to inspire and support the message of the service through dance in the same way a Worship Team or Choir does through singing. Therefore, a worship dancer is one who expresses his or her faith through movement ministry in a public worship setting. Adults and youth of any ability are invited to be a part of this group. Experience is welcomed but not necessary.

Media & Technical Arts

What we do:

At Oceanview, the effective use of media and technology plays an important role. We use technology to communicate the gospel in a dynamically, and sometimes dramatically, effective way. Ideally, our ultimate goal is to creatively enhance the worship experience without interfering with or distracting from it.

Media and Technical Arts Ministry Mission Statement:

To communicate the gospel, glorify Christ and impact lives in our community by enhancing the vital worship, teaching, preaching and outreach of Oceanview church.

How you can help?

So we invite all "techies" to connect with us. We are always looking for talented people who have a passion for technology and desire to learn. Best of all, basic hands-on training and tech mentoring opportunities are available.
