Who are United Women in Faith?

United Women in Faith is a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization where women grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve and work to create a world in which all women, children and youth thrive.

Our Mission: We seek to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities.

Our Vision: We are a powerful, fearless force driven by God’s love and united in sisterhood. With a focus on women, children and youth, we act for justice and transform communities.

We face the realities we see in the world, even when they are not the ones we would like to see. However, our goal is not to bear witness simply to harms but also to God’s love by acting boldly to change those harms.

Any woman who commits to the vision and mission of United Women in Faith and wants to engage in mission, study, personal growth and social action is invited to join.   Join us by going to our national website at https://uwfaith.org/all-access-membership/

United Women in Faith at Oceanview

All women are welcome to attend our fun and informative meetings. Each meeting we have a focus: an on-point topic relating to missions, local needs, social justice, environmental awareness or similar. We also like to have a Hands-On Project, something related to our focus that engages our hands. That way we can talk but at the same time DO something creative, helpful, and engaging.

We gather on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.  In Summer, we take a break and do not gather in June, July and August. Where we meet may change, so contact phymer@comcast.net for more information. We would love to have you join us!

If you are looking for Christian women’s fellowship, a sisterhood, that has fun and makes a difference in the community; then come join Oceanview UWF. Contact us at phymer@comcast.net.

2023 Reading Program

The Reading Program is a cherished tradition that brings together members to explore, share and discuss books

Reading is rewarding.

As you read, you can track your progress using our easy-to-use Reporting Form. When you submit the Report of Completion Requirements, you will be recognized with a Certificate of Recognition. Visit the Reading Program webpage: https://uwfaith.org//2023-reading-program/

Reading is connecting.

The Reading Program is not meant to be completed alone or in a vacuum.  The UWF Atlantic Central District hosts a Zoom book group on April 4 at 7:30pm.  If you would like to join the Zoom book group please contact Alice Naegele at alicenaegele.umw@gmail.com for the link along with the catalog of books for this year.   In April, the group will be reading and discussing "Ida B the Queen" the extraordinary life of Ida B Wells by Michelle Duster.
