Sunday Morning Worship

We are a seaside community of people discovering life’s meaning through a transforming relationship with Jesus. As members of God’s family, we strive to show Jesus real and relevant to the world. All people are important to God, therefore all people are important to us.

9:00 am – Modern Worship with Oceanview Worship Band

11:00 am – Traditional Worship with Pipe Organ and Choir

At 10:00 am, we enjoy coffee and danish between services. So stay a little later or come a little earlier and get to know the Oceanview family.

We also provide a Children's Service during 9:00 am Modern Worship and a Nursery during both Sunday morning worship times.

Modern Worship
Sundays at 9:00 am

Modern worship is more informal, laid-back and relaxed. Actually, most people think we call it modern worship because we have a band. We know it’s more than that. It’s really about living.

Because we value multi-generational and creative worship, don’t be surprised if we sing a kid’s bible song, or a country ballad, maybe something off the Christian radio station, or a rousing 100 year-old hymn. We say we are modern because we sing songs, read Scriptures, and listen to teachings that resonate with us right now. It’s just what we do.

We sing, we pray and we listen to the pastors as they share Scriptures and thoughts for today. We may talk about missions or outreach. We will receive an offering from those who call Oceanview their home. (If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to participate unless you want to.) Communion may be served. All are invited to communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate. We provide a worship booklet (some call it a “bulletin”), and put the song lyrics on the screen to help those who are unfamiliar with our ways.

Oceanview Worship – The Band

Oceanview Worship (the band) is a multi-generational community of Christ-following, musically-talented believers who share a deep love for God and for each other. We lead worship by example, believing in facilitating an authentic encounter between God and God’s people.

The team is dedicated to multi-faceted and multi-generational creative expressions of worship. We are an audition-based group, yet we value and accept beginning creatives alongside professionals. We believe that individuals need time to rest and be a part of the congregational experience, therefore we practice a rotation schedule.

Welcome creatives! Our band has instrumentalists of different styles and levels of playing ability; vocalists, songwriters, poets and lyricists for collaborative expressions of worship. Come create with us.

Traditional Worship

Sundays at 11:00 am

Tradition is a good thing. We celebrate the mystery of our faith with a sense of connection to the generations of Jesus-followers who have worshiped before us.

Here at this service you will find a Call to Worship, Affirmations of Faith, Creeds, a real pipe organ (yes, really!), a choir and even hymnals. We have a greeting and opening prayer, Scripture readings, prayers and praises, an offering, the Lord’s Prayer, the sermon, special music and hymns and a closing prayer.

We unabashedly love the pageantry and visuals of the church. They give us hope. And out of that hope, we seek to walk with Jesus in this moment, looking toward the future.

Communion may also be served. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate. We print the words and responses in our bulletins to help those who are unfamiliar with our ways. We are not rigid. When we realized that a few in our forever-family couldn’t hold a heavy hymnal, we put the hymn lyrics on the screen.

Tradition: for us, it’s about love.

The Celebration Choir

The Celebration Choir leads the congregation in the corporate singing of our hymns, as well as providing special musical presentations through the Call to Worship, anthems and benedictions. We also offer Christmas and Easter musicals.

Rehearsals: Take place weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the downstairs Music Room. Supplemental rehearsals occur as we prepare for Christmas and Easter musicals.

We are an open group – no audition is required to attend and lift your voice in song. Some in our group read music and others do not. Music is an important part of worship for all of our Celebration Choir members. If this sounds like you, we invite you to come and sing.
